Small and diverse suppliers are taking advantage of the staffing industry’s first supplier insurance program—an innovative solution recently introduced by Kelly Services®.

The New Kelly Insurance Offering Benefits Suppliers
In December 2009, Kelly launched a new partnership with the American Staffing Assurance Company (ASAC), underwritten by Lloyds of London to provide a contract-specific insurance program, available exclusively to qualified Kelly suppliers. A growing number of suppliers have since inquired or taken advantage of the program. Key benefits include; pre-approved coverage with dramatic expense reductions, predictable costs, low-entry barriers such as up-front cost, and an efficient enrollment process.

Inteligente Solutions, an MBE supplier, has taken full advantage of the exclusive offering. Kathy DeCaires, Vice President of Sales & Operations of Inteligente took time to share their experience working with ASAC through the application process, and the impact of engaging in the program has had on expanding their business opportunities with Kelly.

Witness the Difference: A Case in Point
Inteligente Solutions is a full-service staffing firm and certified minority-owned business enterprise (MBE) that services the Light Industrial, Administrative, Professional, Healthcare, and Scientific or Technical business sectors—including support for J&J business across the Midwest, through a Master Vendor relationship with Kelly in the states of Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York.

According to Kathy, "the advantages of the new Kelly insurance program are myriad. The program has provided Inteligente with reasonable options and ease of use never before available to MBEs," she states. "We have realized not only quick and straightforward access to affordable coverage but also faster approval and centralized administration that enables us to engage new business in far less time."

In one case, Inteligente needed to obtain a surety bond to meet requirements for new business in Missouri. Several carriers requested pages and pages of information to become familiar with their circumstance, returning quotes in excess of $5,000. The Kelly/ASAC team needed just one page of background to offer the same coverage for
$1,000—all turned around in less than a week.

"The program is specialized for staffing; ASAC knows Kelly, and they understand the dynamics of secondary staffing supplier relationships such as the Master Vendor model—so they can offer more immediate insight with far less input," Ms. DeCaires continued. "It has really helped Inteligente to feel more comfortable about expanding business with Kelly customers like J&J into new states."
